Find Out If You Are Ready to Book Your CCNA Exam. In 15 Minutes.

Most CCNA candidates who fail were not short on knowledge. They booked before their CLI simulation confidence was high enough, their subnetting was too slow under pressure, or their practice scores came from repeated retakes of the same exam set. The CCNA 200-301 CertReady Scorecard gives you a weighted readiness score, a live Cisco IOS simulation risk check, a subnetting benchmark, and a day-by-day fix plan. You finish knowing exactly whether to book now, wait one more week, or rebuild first.

What is included in this tool

  • Interactive Score Calculator — weighted readiness score across practice exam performance (35%), domain coverage (25%), CLI and simulation readiness (20%), subnetting and protocol recall (10%), and final 7-day habits (10%). Your score updates live as you fill in each section.
  • PDF Guide — scoring model, CCNA exam format including all five question types, score bands, red flags, and a core readiness checklist across all six domains. Print it or use it on screen.
  • CLI and Simulation Readiness Assessment — 12-item checklist of real Cisco IOS configuration tasks (OSPF, VLANs, trunking, ACLs, NAT, SSH) with a live Low, Medium, or High risk output. Includes a breakdown of simlet vs simulation question types.
  • 7-Day Fix Plan — day-by-day action plan for your score band, with specific Packet Tracer lab tasks and CLI drills. Four separate plans for Ready, Almost Ready, Risk Zone, and Not Ready.
  • Booking Decision Tool — check six critical and six key criteria and receive a live output: Book Now, Wait 7 Days, or Delay and Rebuild. Includes exam day strategy for simulation questions.
  • Lifetime access — one purchase, no subscription, no expiry. Access activated after purchase.

Why booking without a readiness check costs more than this tool

The CCNA 200-301 exam costs approximately $330 USD. A failed attempt means rebooking, restudying, and waiting — all at full price. This tool costs €24. It takes 15 minutes to complete and identifies the exact gaps that cause most CCNA failures: insufficient CLI practice, subnetting that is accurate but too slow, and inflated scores from reusing the same practice exam set. The exam voucher is booked separately once this tool confirms you are ready.

This tool is built for you if

  • You are 7 to 14 days from your CCNA exam and feel uncertain whether to book
  • CLI simulation questions make you nervous because your IOS command recall is not automatic
  • Subnetting takes longer than 90 seconds when you are working under time pressure
  • You have studied mainly through videos and have not practiced much in Packet Tracer or GNS3
  • You want a targeted final-week plan with specific CLI tasks instead of unfocused last-minute revision

What you will know after using this tool

  • Your weighted readiness score out of 100 across five measurable categories
  • Whether any of the seven CCNA red flags apply to your current preparation
  • Your CLI and simulation risk level and which IOS tasks still need hands-on practice
  • Which of the six CCNA domains needs targeted work in your remaining days
  • A clear booking output: Book Now, Wait 7 Days, or Delay and Rebuild

What does the CCNA 200-301 exam cover

Network Fundamentals (20%) +
Covers the OSI and TCP/IP models, Ethernet switching principles, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, and subnetting. Subnetting questions appear throughout the entire exam — the ability to subnet quickly and correctly is not limited to this domain. Candidates who are slow or uncertain on subnetting consistently lose time across multiple domains, not just this one.
Network Access (20%) +
Covers VLAN creation and assignment, 802.1Q trunking, inter-VLAN routing via Router-on-a-Stick and Layer 3 switches, Spanning Tree Protocol port states and roles, EtherChannel configuration, and wireless LAN security concepts including WPA2 and WPA3. CLI simulation questions frequently test VLAN and trunking configuration — candidates must know the correct IOS command sequence, not just the concept.
IP Connectivity (25%) +
The largest domain. Covers static routing, floating static routes, OSPFv2 single-area configuration and verification, routing table interpretation, and IPv6 routing basics. OSPF configuration in Cisco IOS is tested in simulation questions — candidates who cannot configure and verify OSPF from memory in CLI fail a significant portion of the highest-weighted domain on the exam.
IP Services (10%) +
Covers NAT and PAT configuration, DHCP server and relay agent setup in IOS, NTP synchronization, SNMP, Syslog severity levels, and QoS concepts including DSCP marking, queuing, and traffic shaping. NAT configuration is commonly tested in simulations and errors here carry disproportionate weight relative to the domain's percentage.
Security Fundamentals (15%) +
Covers standard and extended ACL configuration and placement, AAA and 802.1X concepts, VPN types at a conceptual level, DHCP snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, port security on switchports, and Layer 2 attack mitigation. ACL configuration is a common simulation task — correct interface direction (inbound vs outbound) matters as much as the ACL syntax itself.
Automation and Programmability (10%) +
Covers the difference between traditional and controller-based networking, Cisco SD-WAN and SD-Access at a conceptual level, REST API concepts including HTTP methods and JSON data structures, and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef. No hands-on scripting is tested, but JSON structure and REST API request/response patterns appear in MCQ and drag-and-drop questions.

Where can CCNA take your career

Career paths and next certifications after CCNA +
CCNA is the entry point to Cisco's certification track and is recognized globally by network operations teams, managed service providers, and enterprise IT departments. After CCNA, many professionals move toward Cisco CCNP ENCOR 350-401 for enterprise network engineering roles, or CompTIA Network+ N10-009 as a vendor-neutral networking credential recognized across industries. Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good practice exam score before booking CCNA 200-301 +
The CCNA passing score is 825 out of 1000, roughly 83 percent. Third-party practice exams tend to be easier than the real exam, so a first-attempt average of 72 to 78 percent across multiple different practice providers is a practical readiness signal. Candidates scoring above 75 percent on first attempts across at least two different exam sets are generally well positioned to book. Practice score is only one of five inputs in this tool — CLI simulation readiness carries 20 percent of your total score and is the factor most often missing from candidates who fail despite strong practice results.
Are there live Cisco IOS simulation questions on the CCNA exam +
Yes. The CCNA 200-301 exam includes simulation questions where you type real IOS commands into a terminal. There are two types: simulations where you configure a device, and simlets where you read existing show command output and answer questions based on it. The IOS terminal supports tab completion and the help system, exactly like a real device. Simulation questions carry more weight per question than standard MCQ and cannot be left blank. Candidates who have not practiced IOS configuration in Packet Tracer or a real lab before exam day consistently struggle with these questions under time pressure.
How long does it take to prepare for CCNA 200-301 +
Most candidates take 3 to 6 months to prepare for CCNA 200-301, depending on prior networking experience. Candidates with hands-on IT or network support backgrounds may be ready in 2 to 3 months. Candidates with no prior networking experience typically need 4 to 6 months of structured study including regular Packet Tracer lab practice. The exam is significantly harder than most entry-level certifications because it combines conceptual MCQ questions with live CLI simulation tasks — preparation time that includes real hands-on CLI practice is more effective than equivalent time spent watching videos alone.
Is the exam voucher included and how do I register for the exam +
The exam voucher is not included in this tool. The CCNA 200-301 exam is administered globally by Pearson VUE, either at an authorized testing center or via online proctoring. Once your preparation is complete, you register and purchase your exam voucher directly through the official Cisco or Pearson VUE website.
